أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ الْقَطَّانُ، بِبَغْدَادَ، أنبأ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، ثنا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، ثنا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، قَالَ: حَجَّ بِنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ وَنَحْنُ سَبْعَةٌ وَلَدُ سِيرِينَ، فَمَرَّ بِنَا عَلَى الْمَدِينَةِ، فَأُدْخِلْنَا عَلَى زَيْدِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: هَؤُلَاءِ بَنُو سِيرِينَ، قَالَ: فَقَالَ زَيْدٌ: " هَذَانِ لِأُمٍّ، وَهَذَانِ لِأُمٍّ، وَهَذَانِ لِأُمٍّ، وَهَذَا لِأُمٍّ، قَالَ: فَمَا أَخْطَأَ، وَكَانَ يَحْيَى بْنُ سِيرِينَ أَخَا مُحَمَّدٍ لِأُمِّهِ..
Muhammad bin Sirin (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Abu al-Walid performed Hajj with us, and we were seven sons of Sirin. We passed through Madinah and went to Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him). He said: These two are from one mother, these two are from one mother, these two are from one mother, and this one is from one mother. He made no mistake, for Yahya bin Sirin was Muhammad's brother through his mother.
