It is narrated from Sayyidah Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) that Sayyiduna Sa'd bin Abi Waqqas and Sayyiduna Abd bin Zam'ah (may Allah be pleased with them both) disputed about a boy. Sa'd (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! This is the son of my brother Utbah bin Abi Waqqas; he charged me (with the claim) that he is his son. Look at his resemblance." And Abd bin Zam'ah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! This is my brother; he was born on my father's bed from his slave-girl." So the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) looked at his resemblance and saw a clear resemblance to Utbah. Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Abd! This boy is yours (your brother). The child belongs to the bed, and for the fornicator is the stone. And O Sawdah bint Zam'ah (may Allah be pleased with her)! Veil yourself from him." So he never saw Sayyidah Sawdah (may Allah be pleased with her).
Bukhari and Muslim recorded it in the Sahih from Qutaybah bin Sa'id.
