It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that a Bedouin came to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah! My wife has given birth to a black boy. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: "Do you have camels?" He said: Yes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What are their colours?" He said: Red. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Is there any ash-coloured (awraq) one among them?" He said: Yes. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Then where did that come from?" He said: I think a strain (in its ancestry) drew it. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perhaps this son of yours too was drawn by a strain."
Bukhari recorded it in the Sahih from Isma'il bin Abi Uways, and Muslim recorded it from al-Zuhri through another chain.
