Bayhaqi 20495 — What is done with a false witness

Ali bin Husayn (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Whenever Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) caught a false witness, he would send him to his clan and say: "This is a false witness; recognise him, and make him known." Then he would let him go.
Abd al-Rahman said: I asked Ali bin Husayn (may Allah have mercy on him): "Was there any beating in it?" He said: "No."
This too is munqati' (broken-chained).
