Bayhaqi 20427 — One who begins with the addressee, and how to write

Humayd (may Allah have mercy on him) said that Bakr bin Abdullah (may Allah have mercy on him) wrote to a governor, interceding for a man: "In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. To so-and-so son of so-and-so, from Bakr bin Abdullah." I said: "Will you begin with his name?" He said: "What harm is it to me that Allah fulfils my brother's need while I begin with his name?"
