Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-Faghwa' al-Khuza'i (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates from his father: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) called me; he (peace and blessings be upon him) intended to send me with wealth to Abu Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him) in Makkah, to be distributed after the Conquest. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Find yourself a companion." Sayyiduna Amr bin Umayyah al-Damri (may Allah be pleased with him) came to me and said: You intend to set out and are looking for a companion? I said: Yes. He said: I am your companion. I said to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him): I have found a companion. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Who?" I said: Amr bin Umayyah al-Damri. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you descend into the land of his people, beware of him, for someone has said: 'Your brother is a Bakri, so do not feel safe from him.'" The narrator said: We came to a place called al-Abwa'. He said: I have some business with my people; wait for me. I said: Very well. When he left, I remembered what the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had said. I urged my camel on until I had left him behind and got away. When I reached a place called al-Asafir, suddenly he confronted me with a group. He said: I outpaced them. When he saw that I had escaped them, they went away. He came to me and said: I had some business with my people. He said: I said: Very well. Then we went on until we reached Makkah, and I handed the wealth over to Abu Sufyan (may Allah be pleased with him).
