Bayhaqi 20311 — The ruler and the judge consulting on matters

Amr bin Shurahbil (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Salman bin Rabi'ah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to judge in the mosque. He was asked about (a question of) inheritance shares, and he erred in it. Amr bin Shurahbil (may Allah have mercy on him) said: The ruling is such-and-such. He felt something in his heart, and he referred (the matter) to Abu Musa (may Allah be pleased with him). He said: O Salman, you ought not to become angry; but O Amr, you should have advised him in his ear.
