وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَلِيٍّ الرُّوذْبَارِيُّ، أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَكْرٍ، ثنا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلَاءِ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ رَجَاءٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ بِشْرٍ الْأَزْرَقِ، قَالَ: " دَخَلَ رَجُلَانِ مِنَ أَبْوَابِ كِنْدَةَ وَأَبُو مَسْعُودٍ الْأَنْصَارِيُّ جَالِسٌ فِي حَلْقَةٍ، فَقَالَ: " أَلَا رَجُلٌ يَنْفُذُ بَيْنَنَا؟ " فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْحَلْقَةِ: " أَنَا "، قَالَ فَأَخَذَ أَبُو مَسْعُودٍ كَفًّا مِنْ حَصًى، فَرَمَاهُ بِهِ وَقَالَ: " مَهْ إِنَّهُ كَانَ يُكْرَهُ التَّسَرُّعُ إِلَى الْحُكْمِ ".
Abd al-Rahman bin Bishr (may Allah have mercy on him) said: Two men entered through the gate of Kindah while Abu Mas'ud al-Ansari (may Allah be pleased with him) was sitting in a circle. The narrator said: They said: Let some man judge between us. A man from that gathering said: I will. So Abu Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) took a handful of pebbles, threw them at him and said: Stop! For haste in judgement is disliked.
