Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) informed Sa'id bin al-Musayyab and Ata bin Yazid al-Laythi that the people said to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "O Messenger of Allah! Will we see our Lord, the Mighty and Majestic, on the Day of Resurrection?" The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you have any difficulty in seeing the moon on the night of the full moon when there are no clouds?" They said: No, O Messenger of Allah! He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you have any difficulty in seeing the sun when there are no clouds?" They said: No, O Messenger of Allah! He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Then you will see Allah Almighty in the same way." He mentioned the hadith. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A man will remain between Paradise and Hell, and he will be the last person to enter Paradise."
"His face will be turned towards Hell. He will say: 'O Allah! Turn my face away from Hell; its heat is scorching my face.' Allah Almighty will say: 'If I grant you this request, will you not ask for something else?' The servant will say: 'O Allah! By Your might, I will not ask again.' He will give Allah whatever covenant Allah wills, so Allah will turn his face away from Hell. When his face is turned towards Paradise, he will see its splendour and remain silent for as long as Allah wills, then he will say: 'O Allah! Bring me near to the gate of Paradise.' Allah Almighty will say: 'Did you not promise that you would not ask again?' He will say: 'O Allah! I will not be the most wretched of Your creation.' Allah Almighty will say: 'Then will you ask for something else?' He will say: 'O Allah! By Your might, I will not ask again.'" He mentioned the hadith. At its end: when he is given permission to enter Paradise, Allah Almighty will say: "Make a wish." When all his wishes come to an end, Allah Almighty will say: "Wish for such and such." Allah will keep reminding him, until, when all his wishes have come to an end, (Allah will say): "All this is yours, and as much again with it." Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said to Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "That is yours, and ten times as much with it."
(b) Concerning Ayyub (peace be upon him), it is reported that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that he said: 'Bi'izzatika la ghina bi 'an barakatik' (By Your might, I am never free of need of Your blessing).
(c) Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the story of Hell, that it will say: 'Qat qat, wa 'izzatik' (By Your might, enough, enough).
(d) Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about the man who will be given a single dip in Paradise (that is, shown around it): it will be said to him: "Did you ever see any hardship in the world?" He will say: "By Your might and majesty, I never saw any hardship."
