أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُقْرِئُ، أنبأ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْقَاضِي، ثنا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، ثنا أَبُو الْأَشْهَبِ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: كُنَّا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي سَفَرٍ، إِذْ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ عَلَى رَاحِلَةٍ، فَجَعَلَ يَصْرِفُهَا يَمِينًا وَشِمَالًا، فَقَالَ: رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ كَانَ عِنْدَهُ فَضْلٌ مِنْ ظَهْرٍ، فَلْيَعُدْ بِهِ عَلَى مَنْ لَا ظَهْرَ لَهُ، وَمَنْ كَانَ عِنْدَهُ فَضْلٌ مِنْ زَادٍ، فَلْيَعُدْ بِهِ عَلَى مَنْ لَا زَادَ لَهُ "، وَذَكَرَ أَصْنَافَ الْأَمْوَالِ حَتَّى رَأَيْنَا أَنَّهُ لَا حَقَّ لِأَحَدٍ مِنَّا فِي فَضْلٍ عِنْدَهُ. رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ شَيْبَانَ عَنْ أَبِي الْأَشْهَبِ.
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him) said: We were with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on a journey when suddenly a man came riding a camel, turning it to the right and to the left. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever has a spare mount should give it to the one who has no mount, and whoever has surplus provisions should give them to the one who has none." In this way he mentioned various kinds of wealth, until we thought that we had no right at all to any surplus wealth.
