باب: قول المضحي: اللهم منك وإليك فتقبل مني، وقول المضحي عن غيره: اللهم تقبل من فلان
Chapter: The one sacrificing saying: "O Allah, from You and to You, so accept it from me," and one sacrificing for another saying: "O Allah, accept it from so-and-so"

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ الْقَطَرِيُّ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ثنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرٍو، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: شَهِدْتُ أَضْحًى مَعَ رَسُولِ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْمُصَلَّى، فَلَمَّا قَضَى خُطْبَتَهُ وَنَزَلَ عَنْ مِنْبَرِهِ أُتِيَ بِكَبْشِهِ فَذَبَحَهُ وَقَالَ: " بِسْمِ اللهِ وَاللهُ أَكْبَرُ، هَذَا عَنِّي وَعَمَّنْ لَمْ يُضَحِّ مِنْ أُمَّتِي ".
Sayyiduna Jabir bin Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I was present with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) for Eid al-Adha at the prayer ground. When he finished his sermon and came down from his pulpit, his ram was brought to him, and he slaughtered it and said: 'Bismillah wallahu akbar' (In the name of Allah, and Allah is the Greatest). "This is on behalf of me and on behalf of those of my Ummah who have not sacrificed."
