أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي، وَأَبُو زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، أنبأ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْحَكَمِ، أنبأ ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَامِرِ بْنِ رَبِيعَةَ الْعَدَوِيِّ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ رَضِيَ ⦗٤٧٣⦘ اللهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ إِنَّ أَحَدَنَا يَصِيدُ الصَّيْدَ وَلَيْسَ مَعَهُ شَيْءٌ يُذَكِّيهِ بِهِ إِلَّا مَرْوَةٌ أَوْ شُقَّةُ عَصًا. فَقَالَ: " أَمْرِرِ الدَّمَ بِمَا شِئْتَ وَاذْكُرِ اسْمَ اللهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ".
Sayyiduna Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I said: O Messenger of Allah! One of us hunts, but for slaughtering there is only a stone or a split piece of a stick. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Make the blood flow with whatever you wish and take the name of Allah, that is, recite the takbir: 'Bismillahi wallahu akbar' (In the name of Allah, and Allah is the Greatest)."
