Bayhaqi 18981 — Dead creatures the sea casts out or that float

Abu Salamah narrates from Thuwayb that the sea cast out a great many fish, so we asked Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) for a fatwa about them. He permitted eating them. Turning away from the fatwa of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), we came to Marwan, and he asked Zayd bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: They are lawful; you may eat them.
