Bayhaqi 18885 — Trained falcons when they eat from the game

Sayyiduna Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you train a dog or a falcon and send it with the name of Allah, if it holds the game for you, then eat." I asked: What if they kill it? He said: "If, after killing, it holds the game without eating from it, then eat."
(b) Sa'id bin al-Musayyab (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Salman al-Farisi (may Allah be pleased with him): When you send your dog, falcon or hawk after game and it eats even half of the game, you may eat the game. This is regarding the permissibility of eating the game.
(c) Sa'id bin Jubayr (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): If the dog eats from the game, do not eat; if the hawk eats, eat the game, because you are able to beat the dog, whereas you are not able to beat the hawk. This is the difference between the hawk and the dog.
(d) Sa'id bin Jubayr (may Allah have mercy on him) says: When the falcon eats from the game, do not eat the game.
(e) Al-Rabi' bin Subayh says about the falcon or hawk when they eat from the game: Ata' and Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on them both) say that when the falcon or hawk eats from the game, you should not eat its meat.
The mention of the falcon in this narration of Adi was not brought by the huffaz whom we mentioned earlier from al-Sha'bi; only Mujalid brought it, and Allah knows best.
