Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: One day the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up and delivered a sermon. He (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned breach of trust in the spoils of war, regarded it as a very great sin and declared this breach of trust a major sin. Then he said: "Let me not find any one of you in such a state that he comes on the Day of Resurrection to the plain of gathering with a camel on his neck making noise, and he says: O Messenger of Allah! Help me. And I say: I cannot do anything for you; I had conveyed the message to you." Then he said: "Let me not find any one of you in such a state that he comes on the Day of Resurrection with a goat bleating on his neck, and he says: O Messenger of Allah! Help me. And I say: I cannot do anything for you; I had told you." Then he said: "Let me not find any one of you in such a state that he comes on the Day of Resurrection to the plain of gathering with a horse neighing on his neck, and that person says: O Messenger of Allah! Help me. And I reply: I cannot do anything for you; I had conveyed the message to you." Then he said: "Let me not find any one of you in such a state that he comes on the Day of Resurrection with a human being riding on his neck screaming, and that person says: O Messenger of Allah! Help me. And I say: I cannot do anything for you; I had conveyed the message to you." Then he said: "Let me not find any one of you in such a state that he comes on the Day of Resurrection to the plain of gathering with gold and silver loaded on his neck, pleading: O Messenger of Allah! Help me. And I reply: I cannot do anything for you; I had conveyed the message to you." Then he said: "Let me not find any one of you in such a state that he comes on the Day of Resurrection with pieces of cloth fluttering on his neck, pleading: O Messenger of Allah! Help me. And I reply: I cannot do anything for you; I had conveyed the message to you."
