Sayyiduna Jundub bin Makith (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) sent Abdullah bin Ghalib al-Laythi (may Allah be pleased with him) with a detachment, and I was among them. He ordered them "to raid Banu al-Mulawwih from all sides at a place called al-Kadid." We set out, and at al-Kadid we met al-Harith bin al-Barsa', and we seized him. He said: "I have come intending (to accept) Islam; I want to go to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)." We said: "If you are a Muslim, being tied up for a day and a night will not harm you; and if you are not a Muslim, then we will bind you securely." So we tied him up.
