Sayyiduna Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) dispatched a cavalry troop towards Najd. They brought back a man of Banu Hanifah called Thumamah bin Uthal, who was the chief of al-Yamamah, and they tied him to one of the pillars of the mosque.
