Bayhaqi 18114 — Cutting down trees and burning dwellings

Nafi' narrates from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) burned the date palms of Banu al-Nadir, about which Hassan (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "For the chiefs of Banu Lu'ayy, burning the spreading palm trees at a place called al-Buwayrah became an easy thing."
Abu Sufyan bin al-Harith (may Allah be pleased with him) replied to it:
"May Allah keep this deed going on, with the fire blazing all around it. Soon you will come to know which of us is kept safe, and you will learn whose land among us has suffered harm."
