أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ بِشْرَانَ بِبَغْدَادَ، أنبأ أَبُو جَعْفَرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو الرَّزَّازُ، ثنا سَعْدَانُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ، ثنا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، سَمِعَ ⦗٥٤٣⦘ السَّائِبَ بْنَ يَزِيدَ، يَقُولُ: سَمِعْتُ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ: " ذُكِرَ لِي أَنَّ عُبَيْدَ اللهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ وَأَصْحَابًا لَهُ شَرِبُوا شَرَابًا، وَأَنَا سَائِلٌ عَنْهُ، فَإِنْ كَانَ يُسْكِرُ حَدَدْتُهُمْ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ: عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ السَّائِبِ: فَرَأَيْتُهُ يَحُدُّهُمْ.
Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I learned that Ubaydullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) and his companions had drunk wine. I am asking about them; if they have become intoxicated, I will apply the prescribed punishment (hadd) to them. Sayyiduna al-Sa'ib (may Allah be pleased with him) said: I saw that the prescribed punishment was applied to them.
