Bayhaqi 17444 — Reports on diluting with water

Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he (peace and blessings be upon him) noticed a smell on him, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What is this smell?" He said: It is nabidh. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bring it to me." The nabidh was brought to him (peace and blessings be upon him), and it was very strong, so he (peace and blessings be upon him) mixed water into it and said: "When your drink becomes strong, mix water into it like this."
