Sa'sa'ah bin Suhan came to Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: Forbid us what the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade you. He said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade me gourd vessels, green-glazed jars, hollowed-out wooden vessels, ji'ah (barley wine), the gold ring, wearing silk, qassi (silk-striped cloth) and the red saddle cushion." In the hadith of Ibn Khushaysh, the hollowed-out wooden vessel is not mentioned.
