Bayhaqi 17352 — Reports explaining the wine whose prohibition

Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says: I was standing serving drink to my uncles, and on that day they were drinking a drink of theirs, when a man came and said: Do you not know that wine has been made unlawful? They said: O Anas, pour it out. So I poured it out. By Allah, they never went back to it until they met Allah Almighty. (Sulayman) said: I said: What was their drink? He said: Unripe dates and dried dates. Abu Bakr bin Anas said, while Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) was present in the gathering: That was their wine at that time; and Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) did not object to it.
