Bayhaqi 17284 — The thief's liability for compensation

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو حَازِمٍ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو الْفَضْلِ الْكَرَابِيسِيُّ، أنبأ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ نَجْدَةَ، ثنا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، ثنا هُشَيْمٌ، ثنا بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِنَا، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقُولُ: " هُوَ ضَامِنٌ لِلسَّرِقَةِ مَعَ قَطْعِ يَدِهِ ".
It is narrated from al-Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) that the thief pays compensation and his hand is also cut off.
