Rafi' bin Sinan (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when he became Muslim, his wife refused to accept Islam. His wife came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: This is my daughter, whose period of suckling has just been completed. And Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) said: She is my daughter. So he (peace and blessings be upon him) seated Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) on one side and his wife on the other, seated the girl between them, and said: "Now call her to yourselves." The girl began to go towards her mother, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) supplicated: 'Allahumma ihdiha' (O Allah, guide her). Then she went to her father, and Rafi' (may Allah be pleased with him) took her.
Rafi' bin Sinan (may Allah be pleased with him) is the grandfather of Abd al-Hamid bin Ja'far.
