It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that a divorced woman and a woman whose husband has died may go out during the day, but they should not spend a whole night in anyone's house other than their own.
It is narrated from Sufyan: Musa bin Uqbah narrated to me from Nafi', from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), that a woman who has been irrevocably divorced may visit during the day, but should not spend the night anywhere other than her own house.
It is narrated from Alqamah that the women of the Hamdan tribe received news of (the death of) their husbands. They asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him): We feel lonely. He instructed them to gather together during the day, and when night came, each woman should return to her own house.
It is narrated from a man of the tribe of Aslam that a woman asked Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her): Her husband had died; could she visit her father who was ill? Sayyidah Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: Spend one of the two halves of the night in your own house.
