أَخْبَرَنَاه أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ مِنْ أَصْلِ كِتَابِهِ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ الْقَطَّانُ ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، ثنا النَّضْرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، ثنا شُعْبَةُ، أَخْبَرَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ ابْنِ كَعْبِ بْنِ عُجْرَةَ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَمَّتَهُ تُحَدِّثُ عَنْ فُرَيْعَةَ أُخْتِ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ مَعَ زَوْجِهَا فِي قَرْيَةٍ مِنْ قُرَى الْمَدِينَةِ فَتَبِعَ أَعْلَاجًا فَقَتَلُوهُ فَأَتَتِ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَشَكَتِ الْوَحْشَةَ فِي مَنْزِلِهَا وَذَكَرَتْ أَنَّهَا فِي مَنْزِلٍ لَيْسَ لَهَا وَاسْتَأْذَنَتْ أَنْ تَأْتِيَ مَنْزِلَ إِخْوَتِهَا بِالْمَدِينَةِ فَأَذِنَ لَهَا ثُمَّ دَعَا أَوْ دُعِيَتْ لَهُ فَقَالَ: " اسْكُنِي فِي الْبَيْتِ الَّذِي أَتَاكِ فِيهِ نَعْيُ زَوْجِكِ حَتَّى يَبْلُغَ الْكِتَابُ أَجَلَهُ " قَالَ: فَلَقِيتُ أَنَا سَعْدَ بْنَ إِسْحَاقَ فَحَدَّثَنِي بِهِ.
It is narrated from Ibn Ka'b bin Ujrah (may Allah be pleased with him) that he heard his paternal aunt narrating from Furay'ah (may Allah be pleased with her), the sister of Abu Sa'id (may Allah be pleased with him), that she was with her husband in one of the villages of Madinah. Her husband went after some foreign servants, and they killed him. She came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), complained of the loneliness of her home, mentioned that she was living in a house that was not hers, and asked permission to move to the house of her brothers in Madinah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) gave her permission, then he called her and said: "Stay in the house in which the news of your husband's death reached you until 'the prescribed term reaches its end' [Surah al-Baqarah: 235], that is, until the 'iddah is over."
