وَبِإِسْنَادِهِ ثنا سُفْيَانُ، ثنا أَشْعَثُ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ سُوَيْدٍ قَالَ: جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ: يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مَا تَرَى فِي امْرَأَةٍ طُلِّقَتْ ثُمَّ أَصْبَحَتْ غَادِيَةً إِلَى أَهْلِهَا؟ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللهِ: " وَاللهِ مَا أُحِبُّ أَنَّ لِي دِينَهَا بِتَمْرَةٍ ".
It is narrated from al-Harith bin Suwayd (may Allah have mercy on him) that a man came to Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: O Abu Abd al-Rahman, what is your view about a woman who was divorced and then, in the morning, went off to her family? Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: By Allah, I would not like to have her religion even for a date.
