Al-Zubayr bin Abd al-Rahman bin al-Zubayr narrates from his father (Abd al-Rahman bin al-Zubayr, may Allah be pleased with him) that Rifa'ah (may Allah be pleased with him) gave his wife Tamimah bint Wahb (may Allah be pleased with her) three divorces in the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him). Abd al-Rahman bin al-Zubayr (may Allah be pleased with him) married her, but it was raised against him that he was unable to have intercourse, so he divorced her before having intercourse with her. Then Rifa'ah (may Allah be pleased with him), who had divorced her before Abd al-Rahman (may Allah be pleased with him) married her, intended to marry her. He mentioned this to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), and he forbade him from marrying her and said: "She is not lawful for you until she tastes the sweetness."
