أَخْبَرَنَاهُ أَبُو سَعْدٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمَالِينِيُّ أنا أَبُو أَحْمَدَ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَدِيٍّ الْحَافِظُ، نا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ، نا أَبُو الرَّبِيعِ الزَّهْرَانِيُّ، وَشيْبَانُ، وَغَيْرُهُمَا، قَالُوا: أنا جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ، عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، نا عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ رُكَانَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، أَنَّهُ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ الْبَتَّةَ فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: " مَا أَرَدْتَ بِهَا؟ " قَالَ: وَاحِدَةً قَالَ: " آللَّهِ؟ " قَالَ: آللَّهِ، قَالَ: " هُوَ عَلَى مَا أَرَدْتَ ".
Abdullah bin Ali bin Yazid bin Rukanah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father, and he from his grandfather (may Allah be pleased with him), that he gave his wife the battah divorce (a final, irrevocable divorce) and came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "What did you intend by it?" He said: One divorce. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By Allah?" He said: By Allah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is as you intended."
