أَخْبَرَنَا بِذَلِكَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ بَالَوَيْهِ نا أَبُو بَكْرٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ النَّضْرِ الْأَزْدِيُّ نا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو، نا جَرِيرٌ، عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْهَاشِمِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَلِيِّ بْنِ رُكَانَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، أَنَّهُ طَلَّقَ امْرَأَتَهُ الْبَتَّةَ عَلَى عَهْدِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَأَخْبَرَهُ ثُمَّ قَالَ: مَا نَوَيْتُ بِذَلِكَ إِلَّا وَاحِدَةً قَالَ: " آللَّهِ؟ " قَالَ: آللَّهِ، قَالَ: " فَهُوَ عَلَى مَا أَرَدْتَ " وَكَذَلِكَ رَوَاهُ يُوسُفُ الْقَاضِي عَنْ شَيْبَانَ بْنِ فَرُّوخَ عَنْ جَرِيرِ بْنِ حَازِمٍ وَقَدْ قِيلَ عَنْهُ وَعَنْ غَيْرِهِ عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ رُكَانَةَ.
Abdullah bin Ali bin Rukanah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father (may Allah have mercy on him), and he from his grandfather (may Allah be pleased with him), that he gave his wife the battah divorce (a final, irrevocable divorce) in the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Then he came and told the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he had intended only one divorce. He (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "By Allah, did you intend only one?" He said: Yes, by Allah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "It is as you intended."
