وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ الْفَقِيهُ، أنبأ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا ابْنُ مَخْلَدٍ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الدَّقِيقِيُّ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، ثنا وَرْقَاءُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى: {إِلَّا أَنْ يَعْفُونَ} [البقرة: ٢٣٧] قَالَ: " أَنْ تَعْفُوَ الْمَرْأَةُ " {أَوْ يَعْفُوَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ عُقْدَةُ النِّكَاحِ} [البقرة: ٢٣٧]: " الْوَلِيُّ ".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said concerning the words of Allah Almighty, "Unless they forgo it, or forgoes it" [Surah al-Baqarah: 237]: That the woman forgoes it, or the one in whose hand is the marriage tie, that is, the guardian, forgoes it.
