أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو طَاهِرٍ الْفَقِيهُ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الصَّغَانِيُّ، ثنا ابْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ الطَّائِفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا فِي الَّذِي ذَكَرَ اللهُ تَعَالَى {أَوْ يَعْفُوَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ عُقْدَةُ النِّكَاحِ} [البقرة: ٢٣٧] قَالَ: " ذَاكَ أَبُوهَا ".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said about the one whom Allah Almighty mentioned, that is, "or the one in whose hand is the marriage tie forgoes it" [Surah al-Baqarah: 237]: It means the woman's father.
