باب: لا يخطب الرجل على خطبة أخيه إذا رضيت به المخطوبة أو رضي به أبو البكر حتى يأذن أو يترك
Chapter: A man must not propose on top of his brother's proposal if the woman proposed to, or the father of the virgin, has accepted him, until he gives permission or withdraws

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، أنبأ أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرٍ يَحْيَى بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ، ثنا صَخْرُ بْنُ جُوَيْرِيَةَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَخْطُبَ الرَّجُلُ عَلَى خِطْبَةِ أَخِيهِ حَتَّى يَرُدَّ أَوْ يَأْذَنَ لَهُ ".
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade that a man propose over the marriage proposal of his brother until he withdraws or gives him permission.
