باب: لا يخطب الرجل على خطبة أخيه إذا رضيت به المخطوبة أو رضي به أبو البكر حتى يأذن أو يترك

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْأُمَوِيُّ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَفَّانَ الْعَامِرِيُّ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ، ثنا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، ح وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُقْرِئُ، أنبأ الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا يُوسُفُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " لَا يَبِيعَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ عَلَى بَيْعِ أَخِيهِ، وَلَا يَخْطُبُ عَلَى خِطْبَةِ أَخِيهِ إِلَّا بِإِذْنِهِ "، لَفْظُ حَدِيثِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدٍ، وَفِي رِوَايَةِ يَحْيَى إِلَّا أَنْ يَأْذَنَ لَهُ، رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنْ زُهَيْرِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، وَغَيْرُهُ عَنْ يَحْيَى.
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "None of you should sell over the sale of his brother, nor propose over (his) marriage proposal, unless he gives permission." And in the narration of Yahya: "unless he gives him permission."
