Bayhaqi 13933 — Reports on the prohibition of combining two sisters

Ubaydullah bin Abdullah bin Utbah (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about slave-women who are mother and daughter, and he said: I do not declare both of them together permissible. Ubaydullah said: My father said: I wished that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) had been stricter in this than he was.
The Shaykh said: Al-Muzani (may Allah have mercy on him) made a mistake in this, saying that Ibn Umar said "I wished"; rather, it is Ibn Utbah, there is no doubt about it.
