Book of Marriage
باب: ما أمره الله تعالى به من اختيار الآخرة على الأولى، ولا يمد عينيه إلى زهرة الحياة الدنيا، فقال تعالى: ولا تمدن عينيك إلى ما متعنا به أزواجا منهم زهرة الحياة الدنيا لنفتنهم فيه ورزق ربك خير وأبقى
Chapter: What Allah the Exalted commanded him (peace and blessings be upon him) of preferring the Hereafter over this world and not extending his eyes towards the splendour of worldly life, the Exalted saying: "And do not extend your eyes towards what We have given some groups of them to enjoy, the splendour of the life of this world, that We may test them thereby; and the provision of your Lord is better and more lasting"
Bayhaqi 13314 — What Allah the Exalted commanded him ﷺ of preferring

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدُّورِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ الطَّالْقَانِيُّ، ثنا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ الدَّسْتُوَائِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ أَبِي الْفُرَاتِ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ رَضِيَ اللهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: " مَا أَكَلَ ⦗٧٦⦘ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى مَائِدَةٍ قَطُّ، وَلَا أَكَلَ خُبْزَ رِقَاقٍ قَطُّ، وَلَا اصْطَبَغَ فِي سُكُرُجَةٍ قَطُّ قَالَ: فَقِيلَ: يَا أَبَا حَمْزَةَ فَعَلَى أِيِّ شَيْءٍ كَانُوا يَأْكُلُونَ؟ قَالَ: عَلَى السُّفَرِ "، رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللهِ وَغَيْرُهُ عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ هِشَامٍ.
Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) said: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) never ate at a table, nor did he eat bread of fine flour, nor did he ever dip (his food) in a small bowl. He was asked: O Abu Hamzah, on what did he (peace and blessings be upon him) eat? He said: On mats.
