وَذَلِكَ بَيِّنٌ فِيمَا أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، أنبأ عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ بْنُ عَطَاءٍ، أنبأ ⦗٤٠⦘ الْأَخْضَرُ بْنُ عَجْلَانَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْحَنَفِيُّ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ جَاءَ رَجُلٌ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَشَكَا إِلَيْهِ الْفَاقَةَ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: انْطَلِقْ حَتَّى تَجِدَ مِنْ شَيْءٍ قَالَ: فَانْطَلَقَ فَجَاءَ بِحِلْسٍ وَقَدَحٍ، فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ هَذَا الْحِلْسُ كَانُوا يَفْتَرِشُونَ بَعْضَهُ وَيَلْبِسُونَ بَعْضَهُ، وَهَذَا الْقَدَحُ كَانُوا يَشْرَبُونَ فِيهِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ يَأْخُذُهُمَا مِنِّي بِدِرْهَمٍ؟ "، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: أَنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صَلَى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: " مَنْ يَزِيدُ عَلَى دِرْهَمٍ "، فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: أَنَا آخُذُهُمَا بِاثْنَيْنِ، فَقَالَ: " هُمَا لَكَ " قَالَ: فَدَعَا الرَّجُلَ، فَقَالَ لَهُ: " اشْتَرِ بِدِرْهَمٍ فَأْسًا وَبِدِرْهَمٍ طَعَامًا لِأَهْلِكَ " قَالَ: فَفَعَلَ، ثُمَّ رَجَعَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فَقَالَ: " انْطَلِقْ إِلَى هَذَا الْوَادِي، فَلَا تَدَعْ حَاجًّا وَلَا شَوْكًا وَلَا حَطَبًا وَلَا تَأْتِينِي خَمْسَةَ عَشَرَ يَوْمًا " قَالَ: فَانْطَلَقَ فَأَصَابَ عَشَرَةً قَالَ: " فَانْطَلِقْ فَاشْتَرِ بِخَمْسَةٍ طَعَامًا لِأَهْلِكَ " فَقَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ لَقَدْ بَارَكَ اللهُ لِي فِيمَا أَمَرْتَنِي، فَقَالَ: " هَذَا خَيْرٌ مِنْ أَنْ تَجِيءَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَفِي وَجْهِكَ نُكْتَةُ الْمَسْأَلَةِ، إِنَّ الْمَسْأَلَةَ لَا تَصْلُحُ إِلَّا لِثَلَاثَةٍ: لِذِي دَمٍ مُوجِعٍ، أَوْ غُرْمٍ مُفْظِعٍ، أَوْ فَقْرٍ مُفْقِعٍ " قَالَ الشَّيْخُ فَإِنْ لَمْ تَقَعْ لَهُ الْكِفَايَةُ إِلَّا بِمِائَتَيْنِ أَوْ بِأُلُوفٍ أُعْطِيَ قَدْرَ أَقَلِّ الْكِفَايَةِ بِدَلِيلِ مَا رُوِّينَا فِي حَدِيثِ قَبِيصَةَ بْنِ الْمُخَارِقِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَى الله عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " حَتَّى تُصِيبَ قِوَامًا مِنْ عَيْشٍ أَوْ سِدَادًا مِنْ عَيْشٍ " وَبِاللهِ التَّوْفِيقُ.
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) says that a man came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and complained of hunger, then he went back. The narrator says that he (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Go, until you bring something that you find." The narrator says that he went and brought a saddle-cloth and a cup. He said: "O Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Part of this saddle-cloth they used to spread out and part of it they used to wear, and this cup they used to drink from." So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Who will buy these from me for one dirham?" A man said: "O Prophet of Allah! I will buy it." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Who will buy for more than one dirham?" A man said: "I will buy it for two dirhams." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "They are yours." He (peace and blessings be upon him) called the man and said: "Buy an axe with one dirham, and food for your family with one dirham." The narrator says that the man did so; then he came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: "Go to this valley, and cut wood and the like from it and work hard, and come to me after fifteen days." So he went, and he earned ten dirhams. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him: "Buy food for your family with five dirhams." He said: "O Prophet of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Allah Almighty has blessed me in what you commanded me." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "This is better for you than coming on the Day of Resurrection with marks on your face because of asking. Indeed, asking is permissible only for three people: the one with a painful blood-money, a heavy debt, or extreme poverty."
