أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ بْنُ أَبِي الْمَعْرُوفِ الْإِسْفِرَايِينِيُّ، أنا أَبُو عَمْرٍو إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ نُجَيْدٍ السُّلَمِيُّ، ثنا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْبُوشَنْجِيُّ، ثنا أُمَيَّةُ بْنُ بِسْطَامٍ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ زُرَيْعٍ، ثنا رَوْحُ بْنُ الْقَاسِمِ، فَذَكَرَهُ. الرِّوَايَاتُ فِي قُدُومِهِ بَعْدَ فَتْحِ خَيْبَرَ أَصَحُّ، ثُمَّ رِوَايَةُ مَنْ رَوَى أَنَّهُ لَمْ يُسْهِمْ لَهُ، أَرَادَ قِسْمَةَ مَنْ شَهِدَهَا، وَيُحْتَمَلُ أَنَّهُ أَشْرَكَهُمْ فِي سُهْمَانِهِمْ بِرِضَاهُمْ كَمَا فِي هَذِهِ الرِّوَايَةِ، وَاللهُ أَعْلَمُ.
The narrations stating that they came after the conquest of Khaybar are more authentic. And not giving him a share was his (peace and blessings be upon him) intention that "the distribution is for whoever was present at it"; and it is possible that he included them in the shares with the people's consent.
