Bayhaqi 12038 — The permissibility of voluntary charity for those

Abdullah bin Hasan (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from members of the (Prophet's) household — and in the narrator's opinion it was Zayd bin Ali (may Allah have mercy on him) — that Sayyidah Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her), the daughter of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), gave her wealth in charity to Banu Hashim and Banu al-Muttalib, and that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) gave charity to them and included other people along with them.
