أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَمْرٍو مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ الْأَدِيبُ، أنبأ أَبُو بَكْرٍ الْإِسْمَاعِيلِيُّ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو يَحْيَى الرُّويَانِيُّ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ هُوَ ابْنُ مُوسَى الْفَرَّاءُ، أنبأ عِيسَى هُوَ ابْنُ يُونُسَ، ثنا ثَوْرٌ، عَنْ خَالِدِ بْنِ مَعْدَانَ، عَنْ مِقْدَامِ بْنِ مَعْدِ يَكْرِبَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: " مَا أَكَلَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ بَنِي آدَمَ طَعَامًا خَيْرًا لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ مِنْ عَمَلِ يَدَيْهِ، إِنَّ نَبِيَّ اللهِ دَاوُدَ كَانَ يَأْكُلُ مِنْ كَسْبِ يَدَيْهِ " رَوَاهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ فِي الصَّحِيحِ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ مُوسَى.
It is reported from Sayyiduna al-Miqdam bin Ma'dikarib (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The best food a person eats is the food he eats from the earnings of his own hand, and the Prophet of Allah Dawud (peace be upon him) used to eat from the earnings of his own hand."
