It is narrated from Abu Burdah (may Allah have mercy on him): My father and I went to Sayyiduna Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him), and he said to us: "Indeed, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade eating and drinking from vessels of gold and silver, and forbade wearing garments woven of qassi silk, pure red (saddle-cloths), silk garments and a gold ring."
