أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ الْحَافِظُ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاضِي وَأَبُو سَعِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي عَمْرٍو قَالُوا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ أنا أَبُو عَمْرٍو أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْجَبَّارِ الْعُطَارِدِيُّ، ثنا يُونُسُ وَهُوَ ابْنُ بُكَيْرٍ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ النَّاجِيِّ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو رَجَاءٍ الْعُطَارِدِيُّ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ لِلرَّجُلِ: " مَا مَنَعَكَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ؟ " قَالَ: يَا رَسُولَ اللهِ أَصَابَتْنِي جَنَابَةٌ، قَالَ: " فَتَيَمَّمْ بِالصَّعِيدِ، فَإِذَا فَرَغْتَ فَصَلِّ، فَإِذَا أَدْرَكْتَ الْمَاءَ فَاغْتَسِلْ " وَذَكَرُوا الْحَدِيثَ.
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Imran bin Husayn (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said to a man: "What prevented you from praying?" He said: O Messenger of Allah, I was in a state of janabah. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Perform tayammum with earth; when you have finished, pray, and when you find water, take a ritual bath (ghusl)."
