Bayhaqi 10166 — Apart from when prevented, the place of sacrifice

Nafi' (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) that whoever vows a sacrificial camel should garland it with two sandals and mark it (ish'ar) (that is, cut the right side of the hump, draw blood and smear it), then drive it, then slaughter it at the House of Allah or at Mina on the day of sacrifice. This is its place of arrival. And whoever vows a camel or a cow may slaughter it, offering it as a sacrifice, wherever he wishes.
