أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحُسَيْنِ بْنُ بِشْرَانَ، بِبَغْدَادَ، أنا أَبُو عَمْرِو بْنُ السَّمَّاكِ، ثنا حَنْبَلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ مُوسَى، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، وَذَكَرُوا لَهُ قَوْلَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ: " فِي الْفَأْرَةِ جَزَاءٌ إِذَا قَتَلَهَا الْمُحْرِمُ " فَقَالَ حَمَّادٌ: " مَا كَانَ بِالْكُوفَةِ رَجُلٌ أَوْحَشَ بِرَدِّ الْآثَارِ مِنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ؛ وَذَلِكَ لِقِلَّةِ مَا سَمِعَ مِنْ حَدِيثِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَلَا كَانَ رَجُلٌ بِالْكُوفَةِ أَحْسَنَ اتِّبَاعًا وَلَا أَحْسَنَ اقْتِدَاءً مِنَ الشَّعْبِيِّ؛ وَذَلِكَ لِكَثْرَةِ مَا سَمِعَ ".
Bishr bin Musa (may Allah have mercy on him) said that this saying of Ibrahim (may Allah have mercy on him) was mentioned before Hammad bin Zayd (may Allah have mercy on him): "When a person in ihram kills a mouse, there is a compensation (jaza') for it." Hammad (may Allah have mercy on him) said: "There was no man in Kufa bolder in rejecting the narrations (athar) than Ibrahim, and that was because he had heard very little of the hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him); and there was no man in Kufa better at following and better at emulating than al-Sha'bi (may Allah have mercy on him), and that was because he had heard a great many hadith."
