وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ اللهِ، وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ قَالَا: ثنا أَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ، ثنا إِبْرَاهِيمُ، ثنا رَوْحٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِعَطَاءٍ: أَرَأَيْتَ صَيْدَ الْأَنْهَارِ وَقِلَاتَ السَّيْلِ أَصَيْدُ بَحْرٍ هُوَ؟ قَالَ: " نَعَمْ "، ثُمَّ تَلَا عَلَيَّ: {هَذَا عَذْبٌ فُرَاتٌ سَائِغٌ شَرَابُهُ وَهَذَا مِلْحٌ أُجَاجٌ وَمِنْ كُلٍّ تَأْكُلُونَ لَحْمًا طَرِيًّا} [فاطر: ١٢].
Ibn Jurayj (may Allah have mercy on him) said: I said to Ata (may Allah have mercy on him): What is your view about the game of rivers and of flood-water pools; is it game of the sea? He said: Yes. Then he recited to me: "This one is sweet, fresh and pleasant to drink, and that one is salty and bitter; and from each you eat (by catching fish) fresh meat." [Surah Fatir: 12]
