Bayhaqi 10010 — Reports on the compensation for what is smaller
رُوِّينَا عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: " كُلُّ طَيْرٍ دُونَ الْحَمَامِ فَفِيهِ قِيمَتُهُ ".
It has been narrated to us through al-Harith bin Abd al-Rahman, from Ikrimah, from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), that he said: "For every bird other than the pigeon (if it is hunted), its value is due (to be paid as a penalty)."
وَأَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْحَسَنِ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أُبَيٍّ الْمَعْرُوفِ الْفَقِيهُ، أنا بِشْرُ بنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْإِسْفَرَايِينِيُّ، أنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ نَصْرٍ الْحَذَّاءُ، أنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْمَدِينِيِّ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ،؛ أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ: " مَا كَانَ سُوَى حَمَامِ الْحَرَمِ فَفِيهِ ثَمَنُهُ إِذَا أَصَابَهُ الْمُحْرِمُ ".
Ata narrates from Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): Whatever is other than the pigeons of the sanctuary, if a person in ihram hunts it, its price must be paid.
