«أذن في الناس أن من كان أكل فليصم بقية يومه ومن لم يكن أكل فليصم فإن اليوم يوم عاشوراء»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"Announce among the people that whoever (has eaten or drunk something) should remain like those who are fasting for the rest of his day, and whoever has not yet eaten anything should fast, for today is the day of Ashura."
