«يا عم! ألا أصلك؟ ألا أحبوك؟ ألا أنفعك؟ تصلي يا عم! أربع ركعات تقرأ في كل ركعة بفاتحة الكتاب وسورة فإذا انقضت القراءة فقل: الله أكبر والحمد لله وسبحان الله ولا إله إلا الله خمس عشرة مرة قبل أن تركع ثم اركع فقلها عشرا قبل أن ترفع رأسك ثم ارفع رأسك فقلها عشرا قبل أن تسجد ثم اسجد فقلها عشرا قبل أن ترفع رأسك ثم ارفع رأسك فقلها عشرا ثم اسجد فقلها عشرا ثم ارفع فقلها عشرا قبل أن تقوم فتلك خمس وسبعون في كل ركعة وهي ثلاث مائة في أربع ركعات فلو كانت ذنوبك مثل زبد البحر أو رمل عالج غفرها الله لك إن لم تستطع أن تصليها في كل يوم فصلها في كل جمعة فإن لم تستطع فصلها في كل شهر فإن لم تستطع فصلها في كل سنة»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O uncle! Shall I not give you something? Shall I not give you a gift? Shall I not benefit you? O uncle! Pray four rak'ahs, reciting in each rak'ah Surah al-Fatihah and another surah. Then, when the recitation is finished, say fifteen times before bowing: 'Allahu akbar' (Allah is the Greatest), 'wal-hamdu lillah' (and all praise is for Allah), 'wa subhan Allah' (and glory be to Allah) and 'wa la ilaha illallah' (and there is no god but Allah). Then bow and say it ten times before raising your head; then raise your head and say it ten times before prostrating; then prostrate and say it ten times before raising your head; then raise your head and say it ten times; then make the second prostration and say it ten times; then raise your head and say it ten times before standing up. That makes seventy-five in each rak'ah, and three hundred in four rak'ahs. Then even if your sins were like the foam of the sea or the sand of the desert, Allah would forgive them for you. If you are unable to pray it every day, then pray it every Friday; if you cannot do that, then pray it every month; and if you cannot do that, then pray it every year."
