«يا أيها الناس! ما لكم حين نابكم شيء في الصلاة أخذتم في التصفيق؟ إنما التصفيق للنساء من نابه شيء في صلاته فليقل: سبحان الله فإنه لا يسمعه أحد حين يقول: سبحان الله إلا التفت»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O people! What is the matter with you that when something happens to you in the prayer, you start clapping? Clapping is only for women. Whoever has something happen to him in his prayer, let him say 'Subhan Allah' (Glory be to Allah), for when someone says 'Subhan Allah', whoever hears him turns his attention to him."
