«يا أيها الناس! إن الله قد أذهب عنكم عبية الجاهلية وتعاظمها بآبائها فالناس رجلان: رجل بر تقي كريم على الله وفاجر شقي هين على الله والناس بنوآدم وخلق الله آدم من تراب»
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
"O people! Allah has removed from you the arrogance of the Days of Ignorance (Jahiliyyah) and its habit of boasting about forefathers. People are of two kinds: one righteous, God-fearing and honoured in the sight of Allah, and the other wicked, wretched and lowly in the sight of Allah. All people are the children of Adam, and Allah created Adam from dust."
